At least a year ago, as I have forgotten exactly, I sent off some fabric and two old chairs that I had bought in an op shop for $29 ea. several more years before that.
They were quite good to start with, but as the years went by the foam got thinner and softer till I then put a cushion under, to stop the frame hurting my legs.
I have done one coat of scotch guard to protect them and if it ever stops raining will do the 2nd. coat.
The cushions pull out and the back can come off minus a couple of staples. I now want to stain the wood to a darker or lighter colour. Brown does not suit the fabric which is grey and cream. After melting into the old cushions these are firm and hard so will need some time to soften a little. A very good quality foam was used with a 10 year guarantee. All in all I am very pleased with the result.
Where they will go I am not sure yet. One was next to the fire originally, the other a bedroom.
Some other activity is John has started pulling the glass cupboard apart ready to paint the wall in this section. I have nearly finished the entrance hall, but need the scaffolding trolley out of the way. This rain is driving me crazy though, as it is not good to paint in so much moisture.
The garden therefore is not progressing either ,it rains everyday, the weeds are growing madly of course but it is little things like pruning the hedge. The steps are all wet and I am frightened of slipping over again. Oh for a flat block also!
Till Next Time.
