Stage One Renovating the Back Garden.

Well we are now back to normal times again, seems late this year, hope you remembered to put your clocks back. As they say..... Spring forward...... Fall (Autumn) back.... is the way I  remember. I've always liked the extra hour when I worked, but doesn't mean much now.

More weeds have been attacked again, and I managed to prune the 3 hedges back, Friday. That was about all I could do in one session. The grass and weeds though have taken over the paths.

In the end John mowed it and raked up the excess. One way to do it lol.

Today Miss P and our son came over, and started pulling the centre beds down.

Very heavy work unfortunately and the bricks are now being laid, on what will be left and raising the beds to a more seat-able height for me. I am going to move the back roses, in winter, and plant them along the fence, and get rid of that garden as well.

This soil is being dumped into the hole where our in ground spar, which rotted, used to be, to fill it up, The pavers from the side entrance will be used to fill in the gap eventually, as they match. Then we can get some more to cover the side. The company that made the original tiles is no longer in business.

Nut grass coming up after it was pulled out and then burnt the new growth this is after 2 days.

Our son is then going to whipper snip every path before they go home. The final solution after all this is done is to put false grass down, as it has worked well around the front beds to stop the nut grass being made of rubber. Getting someone to mow real grass is a bit of a pain having to come through the verandah and down two lots of steps.

A bit more expensive but we will save on mowing fees anyway. In the meantime I picked beans, tomatoes and  yellow eggplant for Miss P to take home.

Till Next Time.
