Beans Seedlings Planted, Verandah Rug & Covid Hotspot.

Two weeks ago I planted beans seeds especially for collecting as dry beans, and this week I planted them out. As I kept them in the glass house, where it was nice and warm helped to germinate them quickly, just as well, as we have had some very cold winter nights.
The beds are the ones, we covered up at the back, but I have now turned them over as added ash from the fireplace every other day, and chicken manure weeks ago. Plus I added compost to smooth out the top as fairly lumpy.

Seedlings end up being a plug in these containers.

Not all seeds took, as a few rotted, which was probably my fault in over watering, but I planted  42 plants of 6 types so should be enough to go on with.

Two beds like this, with room to put some flowers.

The beds have since been covered in wire to stop the bush turkeys digging it all up.

Extraordinary measures we go through to stop the Bush Turkeys.

On the 12th July a  Construction Manager from Sydney, which is in lockdown, visited a building site and went to the local  Coffs Harbour popular pub while infectious. He took 2 workers back with him and they also have caught the virus from him.

All construction workers and pub goers have gone into isolation, but it has been 2 weeks now and no news as far as I know, except there has been negative results so far, for the construction workers. Thousands of dollars and time lost has resulted. One of many outbreaks, in regional areas,by foolish people.

My problem is Most of NSW has been blocked by Qld in entering across their border, but I am due for my 6 monthly review in 14 days. If we fill in a few exemption forms and my specialist sends me a letter etc, we should be able to get through but rules are, in and out in a day, which we usually do. Except, I was hoping to visit our niece this time, who's partner has covered my chairs and ready to be picked up.

I will look forward to the trip though as I only leave this house for my 3 embroidery sewing ladies, on Monday mornings, quilting group is on hold for the moment, and I am usually alone most of the week. Such is life world wide, and I watch movies of recent times, that seem out of date as no one is wearing masks and everyone enjoying themselves outside. Will it ever happen again?

My new Carpet for Front Verandah.

I ordered the carpet for the verandah, as it was half price and free postage at Kogans. Plastic same as the old one and a nice aqua colour, and 160 x 240cms. Not bad for $50.

Advertising Photo. I see this and think maybe should get one for the Gazebo lol.

The samples for the plastic decking has been sent away for, and once they arrive, can match the paint colour, and  will progress painting the floor. It will be a shade of grey though, as red or brown the only choice. It is expensive stuff, at $75 a wide board, which is why only the back verandah that gets all the weather is  being done, after the new caravan has arrived and paid for.

Till Next Time, stay safe and wear a mask.
