The rain this past week has been horrendous in this area. The worst since 1929 John informed me. The garage, a scene out of " Hoarder" has flooded so quite a few boxes now have wet bottoms. I have no idea what is in them anymore, so obviously of no importance. The weather is due to change on Wednesday and although rainy in patches we may see some sun.
The back garden is so overgrown now and so, so wet that getting it back to some normality is a huge task. By this time of year I have usually planted my sweet peas, garlic, snow peas, cabbages, broccoli and cauliflowers. None of this has happened, and even if I had managed it, I suspect most would have rotted. The front garden fortunately is a little better, but the sweet potato vine is everywhere now.
Yesterday Saturday I officially got out of bed from the flu/cold I caught, last week. The cough is much better, and my stomach doesn't feel like I did sit ups all week, but I just feel so lethargic, and not caring about much at all, so usually just go back and sit on my bed with my knitting and watch a few you tube shows on my tablet. It is cosy, warm, and comfortable. Still not up to going to Embroidery or Quilting, so will give them another miss.
The insurance is still ongoing and a couple of days ago they sent an assessor from Qld. to inspect the van, in the pouring rain I might add, let's hope all is well. We need to go to Burleigh Heads to pick out colours etc. within the 60 days, but it would be nice to know what our financial position is as well, in case we need a loan.
I do hope everyone has had a better week.
Till Next Time.
