More Work on the Pantry & Garden

I wish I could say that I have finished the pantry, but it is still a work in progress, along with the kitchen drawers. I have finished some of the containers, unfortunately the clear labels that arrived in fact are an opaque white colour so very dissapointing. They are wipeable though as not made of paper but a sort of plastic, also they stick very well as I discovered when I re -labeled something.

3 of the large containers were cracked and they are sending replacements. I thought we would get just 3 only containers but in fact they are sending another 2 boxes in which will contain two in one and the third in the other. That is a nice surprise especially as I have run out of them as well so another 20 assorted sizes will go down well.

I also discovered a can turntable thing. I ordered 3 last Monday and within 4 days turned up, unfortunately one of them didn't have the joining posts so waiting on an email to see what will happen. Hopefully a new one as well.

Labels on shelves will be scraped off and changed.

They work really well, the bottom part is a turntable, and as a result emptied a drawer, plus I got rid of half my cake tins so 2 drawers are free, as yet do not know what I will fill with.

Luckily John can make new posts in wood.

The kitchen is a mess so much so I am not going to take a photo lol.  I have also gained 4 drawers there as well, and still deciding what goes in them. Hopefully I will clear the benchtops, and put away some electrical items. The op shop box is now starting to fill again.

Front herb garden

I am trying to get out to the garden an hour a day. It is a bit of an effort, I am so unfit and so stiff in the morning have to wait for some painkillers to kick in first. It has also been very windy. Today it is also quite cold although the sun is out. Never the less cleared the bottom garden and planted some annual seedlings, as well as where the plum tree was.

The new roses are just starting to bud, they have grown quite a lot considering it has only been a month. The other side is doing well also.

Love these daisies

Last week the Community Garden started a weekly market table, and I sent in cherry tomatoes, rhubarb and sweet peas. With lots of visitors, they sold approximately, $125 worth or goods, so looks like it will be successful. I think it is also somewhere you could go and be safe, being so open, and the weather was lovely. I sent in more sweet peas this week and have started heaps of seedlings to sell as well. Now it will be a case of getting the summer vegetables in. I haven't visited it for quite a while now and with the amount of work here, I don't think I can devote much time to help. It is much easier to do what I can from home.

3 bunches of sweet peas ready to go.

The first of my RA self injections is on Wednesday, but my specialists wants a blood test Tuesday, when they open which is 7am aaaah!! I have to tell them to do it as an emergency as he is going to call via Telehealth that afternoon and wants the reading before then, to tell me if it is ok because of the white blood count.

I wrote to him as up to now this year,  the 4 week mark always proved to early, and just queried it, especially now I am changing over to full strength medicine, even if it is spread out over 4 weeks. I was in shock at the time, at our meeting, and didn't  think to ask. It means I may have to cancel the appointment also and wait another week with the stiffness and pain. Oh to get back to being normal.

It just goes to show though that you have to keep on top of things yourself, little health problems like that can easily slip by. As it is I think I will be having injections on the 10th,20th.and 30th. day of each month to spread it out a bit as suggested by the Roche company nurse. I can't see going from half strength medicine every 5 weeks to full strength over 4 weeks will be ok., even though I am out of remission. We shall see.

The first of my freesias bloomed yesterday, I had to pick it, reminds me so much of my Melbourne childhood.  The smell is fantastic.

Till Next Time.
