Tongue and Groove Hall Way Finished

Well I am pleased to say that I have finally finished the last coat of the big hallway wall. It actually didn't take me that long to do, about 5hrs but it just happened to be a good day for me to attack it. I am hovering on doing the door white, but it does pick up the colour of the stair railing which I don't think I want to paint white. It also brings in the ceiling wood colour as well. I need a professional opinion  which I may get with an interior designer one day.

Otherwise I will just give all the wood a really good clean and  sanding and recoat in a varnish.

So Saturday John and I moved the scaffolding, paint and ladders into the next area, which is the front entrance. This is also on the downward slope and not that big. The area is already set up to go but this week will be going to embroidery class, which will be my last day as I have decided to give that up, and a visit to my specialist in Brisbane for the 6 month review which will be a nice change from telehealth.

It is so much lighter, than before.

A reminder of what it did look like.

We also hope to call in at Ikea as I want to change the glass cupboard to more of smaller open shelves and drawers, and John will build them in. The one there, is all glass and long shelves but it looks crowded, and all over the place, and I will be sorting a lot of it out and getting rid of it.

Very messy the drawers are also difficult to work.

This is what I am looking at but will be three of them very tightly held together so no space between, and a few extra trims to look like one piece.

They are 60cms wide to small cubby holes for special items of even some books I am also thinking of painting them in a light aqua/blue colour.

Not this colour exactly but an idea of what painted furniture looks like. Remember my theme is coastal farmhouse so something in the soft shades.

Between sorting the shelves and containers, plus putting on the new bedding in the caravan, and spending early morning weeding the jungle of a garden, sorting out the craft room downstairs it has been a fairly busy week.

Till Next Time.

  1. What a huge difference the white walls make! A whole other atmosphere, breezy and light! That was a great choice !
