Gazebo New Rug & Cushions

Last Friday I had the AZ vaccine and slept really late Sat. morning, not getting up till 10am. Will be taking it easy for a while but at least I will  be partially covered when the virus goes free for all next year, those on immune suppressant medicines, never have full cover.

Things were finally lined up for me to get a vaccination, although I was in two minds about it, but after talking to my specialist and GP and the fact I was due for my self injections, missed having it, and two days later had the jab. I just have to survive another 10 days with no medicines, but I sure am feeling it today. RA is kicking back in.

On to better things though I ordered another $49 rug from a different outlet for the Gazebo this time. It is double sided a light and a dark. This is the light one.

I decided the darker side was better.

Then I got enthusiastic about covering the chair cushions as well,  and did that during the week. Have a thing about aqua colours it seems.

My one chair left from a setting I bought in the 80's. So this is my little area. The cupboard John made 2 of when we had the Aga to go on either side. It was oil run and eventually oil was impossible to get for it so we sold it to a gentleman who lived in snowy country and was going to convert it back to wood if possible. Certainly the parts were available. The other cupboard is on the front which is kept for wine and glasses for when our neighbour visits every day for a man chat.

The power to be connected, so I can make tea and coffee, and have a fan and light, is next on the agenda and then will get the roof replaced with metal colourbond once the van is finally here. We actually got word it could be September.

Leaks in heavy rain and too much maintenance.

I am working on some pot plants of philodendron, and succulents for decor. We have some plastic curtains somewhere, if they are still viable, as bought them years ago when being thrown out on special, that will need to go on the end where the rain comes in. The black handle is a wind down blind for the afternoon sun. It can get hot during summer. I would love it to be enclosed in mosquito mesh or even blinds but don't think that is going to happen

Other than weeding, watering and usual housework, I did plant some seedlings in the front garden that I dug up from under the mandarin tree in the back. Yellow daisies of some sort that self seeded.

Pulled up the mesh as the turkeys seems to be avoiding this side of the street so will hopefully leave the new seedlings alone.

Next to this little spot is the frangipani on which an orchid has been growing for several years. Each year it puts out more sprays.

Each year also strawberry plants appear all over the place, left these ones as is and now starting to flower.

The first of the sweet peas are out, these were supposed to be High Scent a white petal with an edge of mauve and the last of my collected seeds, but looks like wrong packaging on my part, as these are Pink Lady. Still highly scented though.

That is all for this week, enjoy our lovely weather happening at the moment everyone.

Till Next Time

  1. The Gazebo looks amazing! Definitely the right choice of rug imo. And the white chair with aqua covering is a statement piece, so pretty 🥰 The orchids are lovely and can almost smell the sweet peas from our place 😁😂😘
