Out and About for Coffee and Cake

Our visitors have just left and we are back on our own again. It was wonderful having my brother and sister in law here, as we haven't seen them for  6 months and of course mum was thrilled. She has been out 4 times this past week, and telling us "I can't believe it" every time.

I unfortunately, have been sick the whole time with a sore throat and extreme conjunctivitis in both eyes that I had to get antibiotics for. I managed though to go to one lunch and one morning coffee and to see the Australian movie The Dressmaker, which I can highly recommend to you all. It was lovely and at the newly refurbished very old picture theatre in a little village town of Sawtell, which is lined along its small main street large fig trees and many restaurants and coffee shops, with a sprinkling of boutique dress shops

Our lunch was at the Anchors Wharf in Urunga. This restaurant is situated on the Bellinger River right over the water. The day we went was a pleasant 24 degrees with a gentle breeze.
The food was delicious, and surprisingly I ate everything put in front of me. I hadn't been eating much up until then, so going out worked wonders.

The river had lots of passing boats, and being a Sunday, many families enjoying the day.

Needless to say we all had a wonderful time.

My brother and sister in law, have been out very day while on the coast, shopping, going to the beach,
massages,  visiting mum, a Korean BBQ lunch at our son's place,  more shopping, and lunches. Exhausting just watching them come and go.

Yesterday was the last coffee with mum at another village town of Mylestrom

Mylestrom Cafe  Area overlooking river.

This again was a lovely morning although it got too hot by the afternoon, but we were back home for lunch. This delightful village has an enclosed swimming pool in the river, a playground and a BBQ shed. A great place for a family outing.

All in all it has been a busy week, despite being sick. So I will catch up with the housework, take it easy and maybe pot out some seedlings depending  how hot we get. At least I have been visiting new places, which we can take other visitors too.

Till next time, take care.
