Nowithstanding the storms, overcast days, and just plain continual rain, I have finally finished the Entrance Hall and the next part where the new cupboards will be built in.
So, as a reminder , the entrance hall looked like this.
After clearing everything out, some of which is being put into the op shop, but at the moment I am just loading the dining room table with all the stuff, I managed to squeeze the scaffolding trolley in, in order to get high enough. At least I was on the downward slope of the roof for a change.
It certainly is lighter and brighter, but I haven't put the hat rack
back yet, as I think being white it will be lost, and I may paint it,
but waiting on that decision.
. It will depend on the door colour or the spindles and rail that divides this entrance from the rest of the house as I am still going with either wood lounge door or black, and wood/black handrail and white spindle theme on the stairway. The front door may be different altogether. First things first as they say.
The next part was the hardest as super high. Climbing up and down also really wears me out and it takes a week to get over all the climbing, not only to get up but also to stand on a milk crate to get the height, brush load by brush load.

I have moved the Aussie cupboard around the corner, as the scaffolding is now in place ready for the last bit.

The join in the wall will needs a cover strip and the light switch may have to be moved slightly. |
One of three cupboards for the non painted space. I don't like how the back is a folded piece, which is made to fit the box it comes in, the seam spoils it, so working on an alternative. I now know why some DIYers put wallpaper in that area. I may paint the rest of the wall where they are going and use the lining boards, or check the "white" colour on pieces of wood available on sale.
The next bit is the start of the kitchen area and fairly high also, I will give it another week or so before I start though. Again another rainy overcast day today, so it depends on the weather.

Ready for the next bit. Cloth gives me a sense of security rather than open. |
It has been a long 7 year journey, painting this house and verandah, lots of tiredness and very sore knees, but I can now see the end in sight.
Happy Easter Everyone
Till Next Time.
